Monster Cookies

I've made a cookie or two in my time, and it seems that the monster cookie that is often overlooked. It is basically a combination of all of the most popular cookies: peanut butter, chocolate chip, M&M, and oatmeal raisin. Intrigued? Give this recipe a shot! I promise you will not be disappointed. I find that using all oats makes the cookies hard and crumbly, so I incorporate a little flour to hold it all together.

Tips:
Keep it classic - I don't suggest using other kinds of M&M because they are too bulky for the finished product. If you wanted to try something similar, I think a Reese's Pieces would be interesting.
GIANT MONSTERS - for giant monster cookies, scoop the dough by 2 Tablespoons sized scoops and bake a few minutes longer (12-15 minutes).
One or both - I use both quick and old fashioned oats to give the cookie some texture. DO NOT USE INSTANT! It makes the cookie soggy.

Oven Temperature: 350 degrees
  Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Bake Time: 10-12 minutes
Servings: 2 1/2 - 3 dozen cookies

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened

2) In a small bowl whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.

3) In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated and brown sugar.

4) Add to the mixture the peanut butter, eggs, and vanilla. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

5) Gradually mix in the baking soda and flour. Do not overmix.

6) Fold in the oats, chocolate chips, M&Ms and raisins.

7) Scoop dough by rounded tablespoons, 2 inches apart, onto the prepared baking sheet. Press each cookie down slightly. Top with a few extra M&Ms, if preferred.

8) Bake for 9-10 minutes or until the cookies begin to brown around the edges.

9) Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for 3-4 minutes on the pan. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
